was developed from research into a new ultra-capacitor construction
and method of manufacture. The energy density approaches that of some
battery technologies without the disadvantages often associated with using batteries.
A few of the advantages are:
full recharge in seconds;
nearly unlimited life >1,000,000 cycles;
available in single devices with working voltages from 50 Vdc through kilo-Vdc and
low cost $50 to $200 (estimated) US dollar per kilo-watt-hour

The new technology represents a major part of the next generation of
printed electronics. It resolves
a number of technical issues and facilitates
the inclusion of electrical energy storage as part of the assembly
process. The new technology combines all passive components,
integrated circuits and batteries into a single printed assembly,
reducing the product size by 70% and manufacturing cost typically by
